This week a very astute young pathologist, Dr. Setyo has devised an automated method for merging and sending out our CE certificates. It was extremely timely, with 560 attendees at our first Black Voices in Pathology seminar. About 5 members of the webinar committee (including myself) are able to use this automated system (a combination of Google Sheets and Autocrat.))
All certificates are now sent by email (and likely will continue to be in the future.) We currently provide certificates for all RACE-accredited courses (as it is a RACE requirement) and in the past have provided certificates (but without RACE language) for select courses in Europe, Australia, and South America.
Our Tuesday virtual seminar attendees get certificates (comes with paying $50 for CE). However, we get a tremendous number of requests for certificates from attendees of our Friday seminars (especially faculty in international vet schools, where a certificate of simple attendance at one of our seminars is of value.
The process is very simple, and starts after the course, where I download a list of all attendees (about half of the registrants for most seminars do not tune in, and hence do NOT receive certificates.) Using the first and last names and email addresses available through Zoom, we can provide certificates to the attendees within about an hour.
The question is whether this is an appropriate commitment of resources. We would like to get your input and a vote on this potential action - a one week period has been allotted for your discussion and vote (which would allow us to provide certificates for Free Friday Seminars beginning with the first FFS in August.
