A cutting-edge curriculum, with innovative use of technologies and simulations, provides the best possible education for tomorrow’s *practice ready veterinarians*. DVM students benefit from seven semesters of integrated preclinical and clinical studies at our St Kitts campus, and one year of clinical training at our affiliate veterinary teaching hospitals in the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand. RUSVM is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and distinguishes itself as unique among academic institutions in the Eastern Caribbean with its functional capacity to conduct basic and applied research that encompasses *One Health* – an integrative effort to attain optimal health for animals, people, and the environment. Research activities are supported by a fully equipped state-of-art BSL-2 research laboratory, a vivarium, access to companion and small and large domestic animals on campus and terrestrial and aquatic species off campus as well as opportunities for potential collaborative research activities with non-human primate contract laboratories in the local community. A new Research and Pathology building was inaugurated in 2018 creating 13,000 sq ft of research space, including eight laboratories. The site features 2,000 sq ft dedicated to pathology, including autopsy and histology suites, a multiheaded microscopy room for 10 observers along with a student viewing gallery and space for small group meetings. We prioritize recruitment of talented faculty that love to teach and are now seeking a key new member of our team to join us as we develop new programs to best prepare our graduates to face the global opportunities and challenges of veterinary medicine in the 21st century. *Responsibilities* The successful candidate will join a pathology team that includes 2 clinical pathologists (1 board certified and 1 board eligible) and 4 Anatomic pathologists (3 board certified and 1 board eligible). S/he will report to the Head of Biomedical Sciences Department and will participate in the teaching of anatomic pathology and histology within the DVM program. Once hired, the successful candidate will complete other duties as assigned by the Department head. In addition, the successful candidate will provide diagnostic (autopsy and surgical) pathology services to the Ross University Veterinary Clinic and is expected to contribute to the research output of our institution and the training of at least one pathology trainee. Combined PhD/Residency in Veterinary Pathology Iowa State University The Department of Veterinary Pathology is happy to announce a candidate search for the Dr. James J. Sheldon Fellowship. This is a combined residency/graduate program in veterinary pathology or parasitology, with a research focus on diseases affecting cattle. The ideal candidate is planning to pursue a career in food animal pathology in industry, teaching, or diagnostics and will be qualified for this role by attaining board certification in the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and a research dissertation related to cattle diseases. The Department of Veterinary Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University invites applications for a combined PhD/Residency position in veterinary pathology. This position is classified as a Graduate Research Assistant and is anticipated to result in completion of a PhD and eligibility for ACVP board certification (anatomic or clinical pathology); typical time for completion of PhD and ACVP board eligibility is 4-5 years. This program emphasizes an integrated approach to develop diagnostic, experimental design and critical thinking skills. Specific duties would include: 1. Pursuit of a graduate degree in veterinary pathology, performing research specifically related to diseases affecting cattle 2. Anatomic or clinical pathology residency training with intention to gain ACVP board certification These activities include: • Attendance and participation in required pathology rounds/seminars; • Rotations in diagnostic anatomic or clinical pathology serving the Lloyd VMC and area practitioners; • Assist in teaching pathology courses to DVM students • Preparation for and successful completion of Phase I and Phase II of the ACVP Certifying Exam process The goals of the program are to prepare for ACVP board certification, teaching, and the ability to be an independent investigator in the field of pathology/biomedical research. Faculty in the department conduct research in areas related to: cellular and molecular pathology, host defense mechanisms in infectious diseases, clostridial disease, leukocyte biology and trafficking, cellular immunology, lysosomal storage diseases, and parasitology. A strong collaborative environment is present on the campus of Iowa State University with the USDA ARS National Animal Disease Center and APHIS National Veterinary Services Laboratories. The department includes six ACVP board certified faculty members in anatomic pathology, four board certified faculty members in clinical pathology, and two faculty members in parasitology, one of whom is board certified by the ACVM. The department houses students pursuing PhD degrees in pathology, parasitology and interdepartmental programs in other biological sciences, bringing together a variety of national and international experiences and expertise. *Anatomic Pathologist Position * The Department of Veterinary Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in anatomic pathology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
