Anatomic Pathology clinical-track faculty position at Louisiana State University

The Department of Pathobiological Sciences at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine seeks applications a *Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist* for a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have a teaching role in the veterinary professional and PBS graduate curriculum, with emphasis in pathology (e.g., general pathology and systemic anatomic pathology) and a significant role in the Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (LADDL) diagnostic activity including necropsies and biopsies. Training of residents, contributing to scholarly activity, and leadership within the department are also expected. Collaborative research is encouraged. The anatomic pathology service is an integral part of the LADDL, which also hosts laboratories for diagnostics and research in virology, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, serology, and molecular biology. *About the Department* The Department of Pathobiological Sciences (PBS) features well-funded research programs in virology, bacteriology, parasitology, epidemiology, and immunology. Additional programs exist with opportunities for collaboration within the School of Veterinary Medicine and with faculty from across other Louisiana institutions, including Pennington Biomedical and Tulane National Primate Research Center. Open Faculty Position – Anatomic Veterinary Pathologist Texas Biomedical Research Institute (Texas Biomed) is seeking to increase its expertise in Anatomic Pathology to meet the growing demand for this discipline in rodent and Non-human primate (NHP) research ( https://www.txbiomed.org/research/) Successful faculty candidates will be expected to synergize with faculty and staff in existing Programs to foster Texas Biomed’s efforts to become national/international leaders in infectious disease research, including research on susceptible populations. Texas Biomed is a free standing, private nonprofit research institute. It supports BSL2, BSL3 and BSL4 programs with unparalleled resources, and is the host institution of the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC), one of the seven National Primate Research Centers supported by NIH in the U.S. Texas Biomed seeks to recruit an Anatomic Veterinary Pathologist for a faculty position at any rank. The position involves a 50% commitment to service activities in Anatomic Veterinary Pathology (rodent and NHP models) and a 50% commitment to research activities that synergize with the Institute’s three Scientific Research Programs: *Host-Pathogen Interactions:* The basic biology of infection in humans and animals; the immediate intersection of host and pathogen. *Disease Intervention and Prevention:* Development of diagnostics, treatments and vaccines to reduce the severity of/or cure infection. *Population Health:* Identification of correlates of susceptibility or resistance to infectious and chronic diseases on a population level (both hosts and microbes).
