Don't miss this very special meeting on October 15th - in conjunction with the AAVLD and the Global Health Pathology Network, we are holding the first-of-its-kind "Global Animal Health and Working in Development" Workshop. It's a FREE full-day workshop led by the Empress of Outreach herself, Dr. Corrie Brown, and Tony Alves and Tanya Zabka of the GHPN, all experienced in teaching pathology in emerging countries. Their hard-won experience will prevent YOU from making the mistakes so many have before you which turn have turned best intentions into head-shaking disasters. You do NOT have to be registered for the full AAVLD meeting to attend this event. 8 hours of RACE-accredited CME will be provided by the Davis-Thompson Foundaiton, and this workshop qualifies for 4 hours of MOC credit from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.

This is not to overlap with the conferences (AAVLD/USAHA and ACVP) that are also happening virtually this month. But fear not, there are plenty of options to keep your Zoom busy. Save the Date for our first online General Pathology Review Course - Course Directors Patty Pesavento and Jose Vilches-Moure are cooking up something special for 2021. Attendees will have TWO options for 2021 - attend the live broadcasts, interact with the instructors, and participate in the panel discussions, or view lecture rebroadcasts for a limited period following the course. Both options come with course materials and RACE credits. Interactive participation in the live broadcast is strongly recommended for those taking the ACVP phase 1 certification examination, and seating is limited to 100 to ensure a beneficial experience, while the rebroadcasted lectures will be sufficient for those who are looking for general knowledge, a refresher, or for whom the time zone (Pacific Standard Time) poes an insurmountable problem. Additional details for the course, including the faculty, topics, and Zoom registration info will be available in a matter of weeks.

We are less than a month away from our annual installment of what has been referred to as the "hidden gem" of the Foundation's yearly meeting schedule - the Southcentral Division's 30th Annual Conference and Slide Seminar (and its first virtual iteration - so YOU can participate too!) The keynote speaker (Dr. Dominique Wiener of Texas A&M University is lined up to present on "Classical Skin Diseases and Hair Follicle Tumors"), all of the participants' cases are in for presentation, and attendees will shortly receive a link to the electronic web site containing all of the case material so they can preview the cases before the conference starts!
