The Latin Comparative Pathology Group is pleased to present our first Free Friday Seminar in July - "Interstitial pneumonia: Causes, mechanisms of damage and examples in veterinary medicine"

This lecture is presented by Dr. Francisco Carvallo, DVM DSC, DACVP, Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. The date is 3 July 2020 at 1200PM EDT

Interstitial pneumonia is a pulmonary pattern that represents damage to either pneumocytes of alveolar capillary endothelium. Cases of interstitial pneumonias are frequently associated with viral infections, but the spectrum of etiologies is much broader and not frequently considered at the moment of interpretation. The mechanisms, stages and significant histologic findings will be discussed, in order to better understand this frequently enigmatic pattern.
