Forthcoming book about human-animal conflict
We have a contract with Taylor & Francis/CRC Press to write a textbook entitled "When humans and animals clash: The science
and law of human-animal conflict". The primary authors are John Cooper (wildlife veterinary pathologist) and Charles Foster
(veterinary surgeon, barrister and acclaimed author), supported by Margaret Cooper and Mary McCullins: a combination of
legal, medical and veterinary expertise.
The book will bring together published and unpublished data on injuries and other insults caused by different species of animal
to humans (including zoonoses), to property (including livestock) and to economic interests.
We should like to hear from colleagues who are working in the field of human-animal conflict and to solicit relevant input and
comments, all of which will be fully acknowledged when the book appears in 2025/26.
