Job Title: Tenure or Clinical Track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Veterinary Anatomic Pathology

 

Job Summary

Position:  The Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) at Purdue University-College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a full-time (12-month) Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist. 

• Tenure or clinical track Assistant/Associate/Full professor
• Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with academic record and experience

Qualifications:

• DVM or equivalent degree
• Board certification or eligibility by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP)
• Service-oriented, client-focused diagnostician with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated ability to work with colleagues, lab staff and others affiliated with the mission of the diagnostic lab
• For tenure track, PhD in a related field is required

Responsibilities:

• Diagnostic Service – Perform diagnostic pathology duties including necropsies and biopsies with histopathologic examinations of these cases, writing reports, and consultation and advice to clinical veterinarians, producers and owners.
• Teaching – Participate in teaching DVM and Veterinary Nursing students and training of residents/graduate students.
• Research – Maintain a program of scholarly activities, which may include participation in collaborative research, providing continuing education/outreach to ADDL constituencies, presentations at local, regional, and/or national meetings, and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Contributing to shared committee work and other assignments, as needed.
