Dear colleagues

Welcome to the April issue of the Davis/Thompson Foundation Newsletter, prepared by our fantastic Managing Editors Jeann Leal and Javier Asin. Stephanie Shrader, who was a Managing Editor until last month, had to step down (we hope only temporarily!) from her role of editor, for personal reasons. For many issues, Stephanie has done an outstanding job and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Of prime importance in this month’s issue, is the announcement by our President, Jey Koehler, about the Big 4 courses of the Foundation: General Pathology, Descriptive Veterinary Pathology, Current Literature and Image Interpretation (CLIIC; formerly the “Gross Course”) and POLA. This year, they will be exclusively virtual. Please keep in mind that will be the last year using this modality, as we hope to go back to fully (and only) in person in 2023 and moving forward for the Big 4. We will continue, however, offering several other virtual training opportunities in the future.

A last minute announcement is the Latin-American Road Show, an initiative recently created by the Foundation, which will include two full days of lectures in four countries. This year, we were fortunate to engage Dr Alfonso Lopez Mayagoitia (UPEI, Canada), who will travelling in October to Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia to present in person his lectures on Re[1]spiratory Pathology of Domestic Animals. This is an enormous effort by the Foundation and our outstanding speaker, and will bring much needed training opportunities to the continent. The Road Show will be repeated annually in different countries. More information and registration instructions will be available very soon.

Last but not least, this issue comes, as always, loaded with an enormous amount of information on training opportunities all over the world and in a number of different languages.

Enjoy!
