In this role as a ,Veterinary Pathologist at CSIRO’s Australian Centre For Disease Preparedness (ACDP) you’ll be applying your expertise in anatomic pathology to facilitate the diagnostic and research activities coordinated by the facility as well as engaging a host of stakeholders in the broader veterinary community. You’ll be overseeing the delivery of focused surveillance and exclusion testing programs and providing expert input into novel disease investigations. You’ll also work in collaboration with a diverse range of user groups including facility veterinarians, welfare officers, virologists, immunologists and cell biologists to manifest world-class research outcomes. This role will require you to work with dangerous pathogens, at times at high levels of biocontainment (BSL3 and BSL4).
As part of the Pathology and Pathogen Biology Team, you will work closely with advanced light and electron microscopists to support a host of diagnostic and research endeavours. You will also play a key role in the development and optimization of visualization assays for novel pathogens such as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridisation.
Veterinary Pathologists at ACDP are encouraged to develop their own research portfolio and encouraged to sit on various internal and external committees including national advisory boards. You will also be expected to contribute to the training and mentoring of early-career veterinary pathologists and scientists from broad-ranging fields.

Salary: AU$121k - AU$142k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
