Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist (Tenure Track) The Department of Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia invites applications for an anatomic pathologist faculty position with a focus on translational biomedical research. This position will be tenure track at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking innovative candidates with an interest in developing an active research program that would include a combination of collaborative and independent research activities. The ideal candidate would have interest in comparative pathology and in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in defining pathogenic mechanisms of disease. The Department of Pathology has a broad research program with current research areas that include pathogenesis of infectious disease in food-producing, avian, wildlife and aquatic animals; molecular diagnostics; genomics and proteomics; tumor pathobiology; soft tissue physiology and repair; and laboratory animal pathology. The successful candidate will have collaborative opportunities with multiple well-funded research groups within the College in focus areas of precision medicine and diagnostics, neurodegenerative diseases, and vaccine design and development. These collaborations may also facilitate development of independent research projects. In addition, the incumbent will have the opportunity, based on their interest, to teach in the College’s undergraduate, professional, and graduate programs, as well participate in the Department’s diagnostic necropsy and surgical pathology services. The successful applicant will join a team of 21 anatomic pathologists, 5 clinical pathologists, and 3 primary research faculty in addition to a motivated group of anatomic and clinical pathology residents, and graduate students. High quality diagnostic necropsy and surgical pathology services are provided to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital as well as to pet owners and food animal producers in the State of Georgia.
