By the end of the course, attendees will gain experience in:
  1. Recognizing the clinical phenotype of neuromuscular diseases.
  2. Developing a diagnostic strategy including a complete history, physical and neurological examinations, electrodiagnostic testing, imaging studies, and muscle and nerve biopsies.
  3. Understanding the indications and use of genetic testing, and value breeding programs.
  4. Developing a therapeutic strategy with the recognition that not all neuromuscular diseases are treatable.
  5. Understanding that the clinical findings and diagnostic testing should be evaluated in total to determine a final clinical diagnosis.

 

Course Details

 

The live, virtual course will be submitted (but is not yet approved) for 16 hours of live, interactive-distance, seminar/lecture continuing education credit and the on-demand course will be submitted (but is not yet approved) for 16 hours of anytime, non-interactive distance, seminar/lecture continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE-approval.
