_______________________________________________Dear colleagues
Welcome to the June issue of the Davis-Thompson Foundation newsletter, with the compliments of our outstanding Managing Editors, Javier Asin and
Jeann Leal. Thank you, Javier and Jeann!
Please peruse these pages to find a very large number of training opportunities around the world. Just to mention a few, CLIIC is starting next week
and Just in Time Mock exams is coming soon. More information about these, and many more training events is available at: https://davisthompsonfoundation.org/events-calendar/
Roger Kelly, University of Queensland, Australia, continues generously sharing his enormous expertise, and this month he sent us another a great
article for our Expert’s corner on collection and submission of skin specimens for histopathology. Thank you again, Roger!!!
Something new this year will be a Latin Comparative Pathology Group (LCPG; the Latin American Division of the DTF) session at the annual
meeting of AAVLD, which we hope will become a permanent feature of that meeting. This year, the session will be on screwworm, a disease that is
moving north at a fast pace and threatens to enter the US soon. If you are attending the AAVLD meeting, join us for this inaugural great session. And
of course, the traditional LCPG session at the annual meeting of ACVP has already been scheduled.
And at risk of repeating myself, I am closing my message by thanking our wonderful volunteers from all over the world. As we have said it before:
nothing of what we do would be possible without your selfless dedication!
Thank you!
Warm regards,
Francisco Uzal, DVM, MSc, PhD, Dipl. ACVP
