Job opening, anatomic pathologist Alabama state diagnostic lab (Auburn, AL)

There is an opening for an ACVP-boarded or board-eligible anatomic pathologist at the Thompson-Bishop-Sparks state diagnostic laboratory in Auburn, Alabama. Please find the details in the attached document. This is a wonderful, modern facility with a bunch of great people and an especially outstanding director. If you are interested in 100% diagnostic pathology, this is a fantastic place to work with a varied but not overwhelming caseload. There are opportunities for resident teaching at rounds and even the occasional lecture to vet students if desired, but the position is not a faculty position. I can personally attest that Auburn is a great place to live: a lovely, tree-filled, vibrant, medium-sized university town close to many rivers and hiking and biking trails. It’s about 4 hours to the gorgeous sugar-white beaches of the Florida panhandle and about 4 to the mountains of north Georgia and the Smokies! Public schools here are excellent, and the cost of living is reasonable. There is a performing arts center and a museum, and Atlanta is 1.5 hours away for additional cultural and entertainment opportunities (and the busiest international airport in the US, so travel to anywhere in the world is easy-peasy). The presence of the university creates a more cosmopolitan and international community than is present in some other areas of the state, so stay open-minded when you hear “Alabama”! 😊 Jey W.
