Position announcement: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Clinical Track) in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology Department of Comparative Pathobiology & Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Job Summary Position: The Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB) and the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine are seeking a full-time (12-month) Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist. ADDL is a full-service, AAVLD-accredited, NAHLN Level 2 diagnostic laboratory. There are ten board-certified anatomic pathologists in the CPB department, with six participating in the diagnostic efforts of the ADDL. • Clinical Track Assistant/Associate/Full • Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with academic record and experience. Qualifications: • DVM or equivalent degree • Board certification or eligibility by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP) • Service-oriented, client-focused diagnostician with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with colleagues, laboratory staff and others affiliated with the mission of the diagnostic laboratory and department Responsibilities: 1) Diagnostic Service – Perform diagnostic pathology duties, including necropsies and biopsies with histopathologic examinations of these cases, writing reports, and consultation and advice to clinical veterinarians, producers, and owners 2) Teaching –Participate in teaching DVM and Veterinary Nursing students and training of residents/graduate students. 3) Research – Maintain a program of scholarly activities, which may include participation in collaborative research, providing continuing education/outreach to ADDL constituencies, presentations at local, regional, and/or national meetings, and publication in peer-reviewed journals. 4) Academic service is expected to include but is not limited to, departmental, college, and university committees; professional organizations; and editorial or grant review panels.
