Tenure Track position for anatomic pathologist - Colorado State University

*Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist – Assistant/Associate – Tenure Track* *Position Summary* The Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Colorado State University, is seeking an anatomic veterinary pathologist for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The position involves a 50% commitment to service activities of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories and a 50% commitment to teaching, research and academic service activities. The effort distribution between research and teaching is negotiable. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories is an AAVLD-accredited, full service laboratory. Service responsibilities are shared amongst eleven faculty anatomic pathologists from the Department and additional service-only pathologists. The VDL receive animals and surgical specimens from veterinary practitioners, animal owners, the Colorado Division of Wildlife, and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. It also functions as a training site for veterinary students and pathology residents. Teaching commitments include practicum teaching during the necropsy laboratory rotations for veterinary students and pathology residents and hospital surgical rotations for pathology residents and graduate students. Didactic classroom teaching in the undergraduate, graduate and/or professional veterinary medicine curricula of the department also is part of the commitment. Involvement in a collaborative research program is an expectation. Preference will be given to persons with interests and expertise to collaborate with the college’s established Programs of Research and Scholarly Excellence (PRSE). These are the Infectious Disease Research and Response Network, Cancer Biology & Comparative Oncology, the Animal Reproduction & Biotechnology Laboratory, the Musculoskeletal Research Program, and the Molecular, Cellular, & Integrative Neurosciences Program. *Required Job Qualifications* Qualifications for this position include a DVM degree or equivalent and advanced training in anatomic pathology. American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP) board certification is required. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, an interest in applied pathology, pathology training, and research experience in collaborative investigations. *Preferred Job Qualifications* PhD in a discipline related to biomedical sciences is preferred.
