*Position Description* *Assistant/Associate Professor, Veterinary Diagnostic Anatomic Pathologist* *Special Title Series, Tenure Eligible* *Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UKVDL)* *Department of Veterinary Science* *University of Kentucky* *Lexington, Kentucky* *Position Description:* The University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (UKVDL), Department of Veterinary Science, College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, at the University of Kentucky invite applications for a faculty position focused on veterinary diagnostic anatomic pathology. This is a full time, 12-month tenure track position in the Special Title Series with the academic appointment in the Department of Veterinary Science. The initial appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor rank, with an annually expected assigned distribution of effort of 90% service and 10% research. The appointment is subject to formal approval by the University administration and the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate responsibilities will include: (1) provide accurate diagnostic pathology service and effective communication with clients through timely diagnostic reporting and correspondence, (2) adopt and apply contemporary technologies to diagnoses, (3) contribute to animal health research through systematic inquiry using diagnostic service case materials or through the pursuit of collaborative projects, and (4) have the potential to teach and mentor professional and graduate students, interns, residents or post-doctoral scholars. Animal industries served include a large internationally recognized equine industry and substantial beef cattle operations as well as a wide range of other animal species. UKVDL is a full service, veterinary diagnostic laboratory diagnosing diseases associated with Kentucky’s signature equine industry, substantial beef cattle and poultry industries, small ruminants, wildlife and companion animal populations.
