*Clinical Track Faculty Position in Veterinary Clinical Pathology* The Department of Veterinary Biosciences <https://vet.osu.edu/biosciences> (VBS), College of Veterinary Medicine <https://vet.osu.edu/> (CVM) at The Ohio State University <https://www.osu.edu/> (OSU), is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time clinical track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor-Clinical. The position is predominantly clinical service and teaching with an opportunity for collaborative research. The distribution of effort is negotiable and depends on the interests of the candidate. Responsibilities: 1. Diagnostic service (approximately 45%): Clinical service responsibilities include interpretation of in-house cytology, digital cytology, hematology, coagulation, endocrinology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, point-of-care tests, and flow cytometry; consultations with clinicians regarding laboratory results or sample submissions; support to the clinical pathology technical staff; new test development; and maintenance of quality assurance. These services will be divided amongst a team of 3 clinical pathologists. 2. Teaching (approximately 25%): The faculty member will participate in clinical training of veterinary students in Clinical Pathology and pathology residents in the Combined Clinical Pathology Residency/PhD Graduate Training Program. Didactic teaching responsibilities will include participation in the professional veterinary medical curriculum and in the courses provided to pathology residents in the Combined Pathology/PhD Program. 3. Research and scholarly activity (approximately 30%): The faculty member will contribute to collaborative research and scholarly activities synergistic with the College’s research, teaching, and clinical service missions. Qualifications: Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) from an AVMA-accredited or equivalent institution and be board certified in clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists or the European College of Veterinary Pathologists or take the board exam within 12 months after starting the position. An overarching component of this position is training and mentoring students in a combined residency/PhD program, and so a PhD or a strong record of advanced research experience is desirable. The successful applicant must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, prioritize collegiality, and demonstrate effectiveness in teamwork. The Department comprises 25 faculty, including 9 Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (6 certified in anatomic pathology and 3 certified in clinical pathology), and combines the disciplines of oncology, immunology, virology, microbiology, physiology, and anatomy.
