Workshop on mandatory necropsies for racehorses

Dear colleagues In the USA, the US Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) established uniform, national rules of racing that include, as of July 1, 2022, a requirement that all horses that die at a racetrack under the jurisdiction of HISA (racetracks that conduct interstate wagering) must undergo a necropsy examination. The Davis Thompson Foundation is offering a hands-on workshop on necropsy of racehorses, on August 18-19. The goals of the examination, essential components of the examination with respect to the etiopathogenesis of racehorse injuries and sudden death, laboratory demonstration of typical racehorse findings, and the standardized HISA necropsy reporting form will be covered in the workshop. The flyer is attached. Follow the "registration" link on the flyer for more information, or use the link below: https://davisthompsonfoundation.org/event/davis-thompson-foundation-workshop... If you work at a laboratory that receives race horses for necropsy, this course is for you. Please consider attending. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need additional information about this workshop. Kind regards Paco Uzal Francisco Uzal, DVM, MSc, PhD, Dipl.
