About the speaker.....Dennis Wilson received undergraduate and veterinary medical degrees at the University of Illinois where he also obtained a master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology. After a short period of veterinary practice, he trained in Veterinary Pathology at the University of California-Davis where he received a PhD in Comparative Pathology and ACVP certification in 1982. After joining the faculty at Davis, he developed a research program in environmentally induced cardiopulmonary disease which continued until his retirement in 2015. He was at various times Associate Director for diagnostic services at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Director of the Environmental Pathology Training Program, Chairman of the Graduate Group in Comparative Pathology, Member of the ACVP Anatomic Pathology Examination Committee, and Chairman of the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology. Since entering emeritus status, Dr. Wilson is a volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and has supported a beach bum lifestyle by consulting in experimental lung disease research.
