Dear all Please join me in welcoming Dr Jey Koehler, as the new President of the Davis Thompson Foundation. The votes were as follows: Yes: 19 No: 0 No votes: 16 Jey is currently on sabbatical leave and she has agreed to take over as President starting on March 1st, 2021. Until then, I will continue to carry on the activities of CEO and President myself. I am thrilled with Jey's new appointment. She is a world-renowned pathologist, who has been a member of the faculty of discussants of the Foundation for many years and, most importantly, Jey is and has been for several years, the director of one of the Foundation's most prestigious courses: the Descriptive Veterinary Pathology course. Under Jey's leadership, the DVP course reached the outstanding standard it enjoys today. This year, because of COVID, Jey and her team transformed, in record time, the whole DVP course into a fully digital version, which was offered to trainees all over the world. Resignation of Vladislava Rac as Foundation Treasurer

Attached please find a copy of the resignation of Dr. Vladislava Rac as Treasurer of the Davis-Thompson Foundation, which I have accepted today, 14 September 2020. Vladi’s resignation is the result of some ongoing health issues, and this will give her time to address them properly. The important of Vladi’s contributions to the Foundation cannot be overstated, and much of he success we have enjoyed over the last 35 years is due to her diligence, discipline, attention to detail, outstanding financial acumen, and above all, her dedication to the Foundation. Her loss will be a large blow, but she has agreed to answer questions during the transition period. The Foundation is in excellent financial shape with over $125K in operating capital as well as over $400K in our invested capital reserve. The addition of Ms. Evelyn Cotton as the Foundation administrator 2 years ago was another excellent choice on Vladi’s part, and provides a sure financial and now experience hand running the day to day-operation of the Foundation office. Vladi’s resignation was sudden, but discussion of this eventuality has been part of the annual meetings between the Foundation, President, and Treasurer for the last two years. It will set up a profound personnel transition within these offices of the Foundation, which will become evident in the next few days. To the Members of the Foundation's Board of Directors: It is my great pleasure to nominate Dr. Rafaela De Negri, a member of the Foundation's most active area at the moment (our Webinar Committee) for a seat on the Foundation’s Board. One of the most important things that was handed down to me from Sam, as the previous Board Chairman, is the importance to the Board’s health of adding younger pathologists who are already fully engaged in Foundation activities - they are in touch with the changing face of our profession, and i know that Sam would very much approve of Dr. De Negri. I am hopeful that many of you are already familiar with Dr. DeNegri through her incessant work on the Webinar committee and social media, hosting and moderating our seminars in a profoundly professional manner which reflects quite well on the Foundation as we lead the way in the area of virtual education. Rafaela is Brazilian, but fluent in English and Spanish as well (a real plus for our webinar program). She received a DVM degree at the Universidade Federal de Uberlandia, completed a veterinary pathology residency at the Veterinary Diagnostic lab at the University of Kentucky in 2008, and a Masters at the Equine Research Center there in 2013. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Breathitt Veterinary Center at Murray State university. Her breadth of experience also includes recent turns a s a private practitioner as well as research veterinarian, and her CV is attached. She has been a driving force on our Virtual Seminar Committee since we started in March, and her spirit of volunteerism is unquestioned. This nomination is seconded by Foundation President Paco Uzal. A period of 7 days is opened for discussion, and you may vote Yea or Nay at any time.
