Introduction: Pride

Hi

While Pride Month usually calls for celebration, the mood is different this year as people take to the streets to protest racial injustice. In this struggle we are once again reminded of the importance of lifting creator voices to build community and understanding, and we continue to celebrate the unique identities of all of our creators.

Black Lives Matter

To our #YouTubeBlack creator community, we stand in solidarity with you and are committed to doing the work in the fight for racial justice. We know there is so much more to be done.

Recognizing the intersectionality of Pride

Recognizing the intersectionality

In 1969, Black trans women Marsha P Johnson, Miss Major Griffin-Gracy, and others led the Stonewall Uprising, paving the way for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. To carry the spirit of these pioneers, we’ve curated 2 playlists–one that shines a light on Pride’s history and another that unites and amplifies the intersectional voices within our YouTube community.

Simple measures to secure your account

Account Security Awareness

Believe it or not, your pet’s name is not a secure password 😉. We take your account security seriously–use these tools to ensure the protection of your Google Account and YouTube channel.

1)

Enable 2-step verification.

2)

Set channel-level permissions to control who can access your account.

3)

Create a strong password.

4)

Avoid and report phishing/scams. Don’t be tricked into revealing your deepest secrets (like your 1st pet’s name, your mother’s maiden name, or other personal info.)

Although the coronavirus pandemic has forced many of us indoors, artists on YouTube entertain us now more than ever! At his Milwaukee home, Wes Tank uploaded his video singing ‘Fox in Socks’ and by late March, his video went viral gaining over 4.2M views. Wes raps Dr. Seuss' classic children's book "The Lorax" over Dr. Dre's famous hip hop beats for "California Love", ""Cat In The Hat", Still D.R.E.", and "Lil' Ghetto Boy." Check out his channel and watch his cool musical videos.
