I believe that we can go by without an official meeting for the upcoming December webinars, since it's a rather short schedule.
We may need to resume our regular monthly meetings beginning of January.
So here are bullet points with updates for the webinar:
- We have a new host in the committee: Eileen Henderson!
- Javier Barrera adopted the fixed Video editor role in our committee and will be sharing editing duties.
- Moderators have now a standardized email/message to be sent out to speakers - https://docs.google.com/
document/d/1e8ZkiUFr2aMzbbI0w_ j-3PEuBLnTxkVNXl0NALc0R5c/ edit?usp=sharing - Moderators should now ask for the speakers' cellphone number in case of emergencies (please, moderators, make sure you include that in the standardized email to be sent out as well)
- If doing the dry run / sending out emails, make sure you state the difference of time zone and, ideally, bring their time zone ready for them (and re-emphasize it).
- December 2020 Friday webinars will NOT have RACE credits, but our plan is to incorporate them starting January 2021.
- We are trying a new thing: live captions! We are currently enrolled in a free trial of a Zoom Add-on called Rev Live captions. Our first experiment will be this Friday (12/4/20). It may or may not work, so we'll see how it goes and decide from there.
- We have new certificate templates to be incorporated for December 2020 webinars. A big shout out to Rafaela and Jim Britt, who put these together!
That's it for now, other details are deliberately kept out from this email since it pertains to certain individuals only, or are not impactful for the rest of the group so far.
